Jo is a warm, caring, and passionate person. We were so excited when she agreed to preside over our wedding ceremony. She spent the time to get to know us as individuals and as a couple – the end result was a beautiful, personalized ceremony. She struck an amazing balance of being reverential and respectful of the sacrament, but also keeping things fun. Under Jo’s guidance, our wedding ceremony ran smoothly and our friends and families felt comfortable and included – all we had to do was relax and enjoy our day! We couldn’t imagine anyone doing a better job with our ceremony than she did.

As the mother of the bride, I was concerned that the couple’s plans for a non-traditional wedding ceremony would not have a spiritual focus – something I thought was essential to start married life. I should not have worried! Jo worked with my daughter and her fiancé to plan a wedding ceremony that was reverent, spiritual, and was respectful of the many faiths represented in both families. Jo was also a calming presence at the wedding rehearsal; she assisted me and the mother of the groom with our readings to make sure we were comfortable, and that our voices would be a meaningful expression of the written words chosen by the bride and groom. Jo also helped all members of the wedding party feel at ease, especially the grandfather of the bride who was nervous about walking his granddaughter down the aisle in a non-traditional wedding venue. Although I did not meet Jo until the day of the rehearsal, I could tell she spent time with my daughter and her fiancé learning about them and their relationship, and encouraging them to keep a spiritual presence in their marriage. Her homily was very personal and meaningful to the couple and also to all of us who witnessed the ceremony. I enthusiastically encourage any couple desiring the perfect start for their lives together to work with Jo to plan their wedding ceremony.
