Worship is one of the highlights of my week!
It is a time when we gather together to gain strength and support from those around us. A time that we center ourselves in the here and now to be ready for what is to come, and a time to be reminded of our interconnectedness and our Unitarian Universalist values. Our worship should be a supportive place that allows our hearts to be transformed, healed, and held in collective grace and love.
Worship works best when we are all engaged together. Because of the fact that I am a kinesthetic learner, knowing of all the different ways one can learn and can worship I try to incorporate many different elements into a worship service like visuals, art, movement, digital images, music and more.
I know that there are many different beliefs and backgrounds in our Unitarian Universalist Congregations I also work very hard to incorporate moving pieces that will honor as many different beliefs as possible. I do my best to be attentive to different abilities, cultures, beliefs and needs within our community.
As a preacher, I am committed to engaging all ages. I work to incorporate stories that teach lessons to all, and that can help bring our topic of adult worship down to the level that children can easily understand.
Worship is like sewing a quilt. Together with a lay worship team, we will lovingly cut and stitch our pieces together to create a quilt that is not only beautiful but full of character, tears, joy, beauty, and warmth.
